There is a robust Joomla community on Twitter from core developers, template and addon developers, and website developers. There are multiple hashtags (see below), which allow your Joomla related tweet to be retweeted to a large network of followers. Or searched. There are Twitter plugins for Joomla, which allow you to show your latest tweets and followers. So you can learn, share, educate, network and promote. After all, Tweetvolume says that there are over 48,000 tweets about Joomla on in the Twitter database.

Hashtags : #joomla
If you do not know yet, Twitter provides a feature called hashtags for major topics where a keyword uses the pound sign (#) prefix such as #joomla or #wordpress. When a person tweets about a topic and includes the hashtag (or #joomla for instance), that tweet will retweeted by a number of Twitter users who just scour Twitter looking for #joomla tweets. These hash retweeters may have hundreds or thousands of followers that you do not have, so your tweets will be seen by many other people that you can not reach. It is also a powerful way to search for other Joomla people to follow (and in turn follow you!). If you use http://search.twitter.com and click on advanced search, you can really fine-tune your Joomla related searches. To read a great blog post on Twitter advanced search, click here.
Another great built in tool in Twitter is find people. Type Joomla in thesearch field. Also, the website CMSTweetr will show you a stream of all #joomla, #drupal, #wordpress and #expressionengine tweets in one window!
There are other websites that will help you search for Twitter users that list Joomla in their profiles. You can even list them by number of followers.
Twubble Twubble will look at your current Twitter followers and analyze their profiles. It will then suggest other people you may want to follow with similar interests. I use this often.
Mrtweet Similar to Twubble, Mrtweet also looks at the people you follow and makes recommendations. It also allows you to give recommendations for awesome people you follow. Like a thumbs up vote.
Topsy Topsy is an interesting Twitter search site that allows you to search for #joomla or joomla tweets but displays results in a nice layout with day, week, month and year totals, as well as listing the top tweeters of Joomla related info.
Wefollow A search directory that allows you to enter up to three hashtags and search for people around those topics.
